2015 Bollinger Grande Année

£160.00

Bollinger was established in 1829 and spreads over 165 hectares of vineyards. This fine Grande Marque house uses a high proportion of its own grapes in their blends, 85% of which are from Grand Cru or Premier Cru vineyards. Pinot Noir is the predominant variety, but this is cleverly teamed with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier to produce their famous and opulent Champagne style. View our range.

Winemaking

Bollinger’s best crus are vinified in wooden tanks and own no less than 3500 small, aged casks. The House also lets its wines mature for twice as long as the appellation requirement so its Champagne has time to develop its full character. Wherever ancestral techniques have proved to guaranty the highest quality, they are preserved. Therefore hand riddling, reserve magnums and vintage cuvées stoppered with natural cork are still used by the house. As a result Bollinger is the first Champagne House to obtain the highly respected Patrimoine Vivant (living heritage) seal of quality which recompenses exceptional craftsmanship and skill.
