CRUSOE TREASURE WINERY

We are the first underwater winery – artificial reef in the world, with more than 10 years of experience in underwater wine research.

Accompanied by our team of winemakers, led by master Antonio T. Palacios, we explore the territory in search of the most unique vineyards to create special wines in our laboratory, which reflect the influence of the sea to the maximum.

We are located in the Bay of Plentzia in Bilbao-Bizkaia (Basque Country), Spain.

Extraction from the sea: October 2021

  • Limited edition: 5,868 units.
  • Packaging: boxes of 1, 3 or 6 bottles.
  • Packaging: each bottle comes with a designer case and tasting sheet. The drawings represent the species in our underwater hold.
  • Elaboration: 6 months of underwater treasure.
  • White grapes from old goblet vineyards located on the Spanish Mediterranean coast, made with a high alcohol varietal, typical of the area, which gives it a very interesting acidity for our production process.
  • Every bottle of underwater wine is unique, no two are alike. Each bottle of Crusoe Treasure tells its own story.
  • If when you receive your Crusoe Treasure bottle it is more opaque, encrusted, it is because it has lived in a more protected area, surrounded by relative calm, where the small fish that dwell in the cellar-reef hide.
  • If you receive a cleaner bottle it is because it has lived in an untamed location, subjected to the fervory of the Cantabrian Sea, which erodes it with such force and intensity that adhesions are more difficult, there only the strongest can survive and improve.
  • In either case, Crusoe Treasure wines achieve their maximum evolutionary expression during their underwater treasuring process.
  • This wine belongs to the sea as its origin, given its system of maturation through underwater hoarding. Its origin is of the highest quality, following our oenological standards.
  • Due to the very fact of our underwater treasuring process, this wine is outside of any Designation of Origin.
  • During the winemaking process we do not use clarification of animal origin.
  • Alcohol content: 13% Vol.
